The following rules are provided as guidelines for the players to be informed and for the supervisors to use in the decision making process.
Many situations arise where the rules need interpretation and when rules are broken or pushed to the limits, it is up to the supervisor to interpret how the rules shall be applied.
1. English is the ONLY language allowed during a tournament. Failure to follow this rule may result in a penalty.
2. Players, in the hand or not, may not discuss the hands until all the action is complete. A penalty may be given for discussion of hands during play.
3. A player who exposes their cards during the play of a hand may incur a penalty, whether intentional or not.
4. Discussion of strategy is strictly prohibited. Soft play against an opponent may result in disqualification. Examples include agreeing to check a hand down when a third player is all-in or refusing to bet against a certain opponent whenever heads up.
5. Players are expected to behave like ladies & gentleman. We will have no tolerance for profanity or trash talking. Penalties will be given for such behavior.
6. Penalties consist of 10 minutes of playtime away from the table (breaks and color-up minutes DO NOT count towards the penalty minutes) and may be used with discretion. These may be utilized up to and including disqualification.
7. A player who makes or verbalizes action out of turn may receive a penalty. The penalty may be waived if the player was misled by the dealer, the interim player had his chips concealed appearing to be all-in, or the interim player had their cards concealed appearing not to be active in the hand or other similar circumstances.
8. All chips must be visibly displayed at all times. Player may not have tournament chips in their pockets, take chips outside of the tournament playing area or concealed in any other manner at any time. Any player doing this will forfeit those chips and those chips will be taken out of play from the tournament.
9. Once the second card is dealt to the dealer button, the deal is considered to be complete. Any player not sitting in their seat at that time will forfeit their hand.
10. Players may miss any amount of hands, however, they will be dealt in and their blinds and antes shall be posted.
11. No side bets will be permitted.
12. All bets must be at least equal to the minimum bring-in, the big blind in Flop games, unless the player is going all-in.
13. All raises must be equal to or greater than the size of the previous bet or raise on that betting round, except for an all-in wager. A player who has already checked or called may not subsequently raise an all-in bet that is less than the FULL size of the last bet or raise. A player who has NOT already acted may raise any amout at or above the minimum bet.
14. A wager is not binding until the chips are actually released into the pot, unless the player has made a verbal statement of action. A player may reach forward with a stack of chips in their hand and is NOT committed to making a raise to the full amount of chips in their hand. However, a player MAY NOT reach forward with a stack in their hand and CHECK. This will result in a minimum bet.
15. If the tournament does not end by 3am, players will be REQUIRED to return the following day at a time deemed necessary by the Poker Room Management. Tournament ends when a player receives all the chips or an agreement to chop the prize pool has been established.
